It’s never too late to invest….in yourself.
In today’s day, other things take precedent in our lives….forcing wellness to take a backseat. It is rare to see someone (especially in their 20’s) investing in themselves. Our careers, relationships, and socializing are generally things that consume us. This is exactly how my life USED to be.
Once I made the switch and decided to make myself and my healthy #1 on my list is when I finally saw everything fall into place. Prior to the change, I was leading an unhealthy life, which took a toll on my confidence. I had no idea that, that lifestyle was the catalyst to everything.
Finally, I took control and forced (and I mean forced) myself to workout, eat right, and practice self-love.
July 2017, I signed up for a package with a personal trainer and committed to a one year contract at a gym that I believed would motivate me. The cost was pricey and quite painful to see come out of my checking. However, its funny because then I would probably have no problem spending that money on clothes, alcohol, you name it. If I knew then, what I know now…I wouldn’t hesitate to swipe that card.
Looking back a year later, I can confidently say that that was the best investment I have ever made in my life. I finally, for once invested in health, wellness, and in return, I got back the greatest payout; confidence, happiness, and a passion I simply cannot control.
What I am trying to say here, is that we as humans don’t put our health and wellness first. We don’t invest in ourselves which can end up contributing the most value to us. This investment isn’t tangible, but boy…it is so worth it.
